Landmarks & Legacies: Issaquah is a 112-page nonfiction coloring book hybrid with 50 hand-drawn illustrations & blurbs of beloved landmarks, foundational eras, and fundamental figures. of Issaquah's past This book acknowledges the Snoqualmie Ancestral Lands Movement and is not intended to sanitize or overlook the harm caused by colonization, but rather, to present local history in a way that invites understanding, reflection, and awareness. By making this information accessible to a younger audience, the project aims to encourage honest conversation about Issaquah’s past and to honor efforts toward reflection and appreciation. Presenting the past through an accessible creative lens, this project hopes to build bridges of awareness and respect—encouraging continued learning, dialogue, and collaboration between all who call this land home.
